A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Boniface Igwe, at the weekend said the party would wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.
He said the party was committed to strengthening of the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria.
Igwe, who spoke at a news conference, emphasized that PDP was founded on the principles of rule of law and maintained that the party would come out stronger and more formidable from its present leadership crisis.
He lauded the recent Southyeast stakeholders meeting with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held at the national secretariat where the crisis rocking the party in Ebonyi was permanently resolved.
Igwe said the ratification of the Federal High Court’s judgement that nullified the ward, local government and state congresses of the party in Ebonyi State was a clear indication of the party’s strong belief in the rule of law and party internal democracy.
The party chieftain also appreciated the replacement of Chief Ali Odefa, the sacked South-East National Vice Chairman of PDP with Chief Chidiebere Egwu, Zonal Youth Leader of the party.
He called on party supporters, faithful and democracy-loving people of Ebonyi to remain steadfast and unwavering in their support for PDP stressing that the party has repositioned to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) in the next general election.
