Governor Francis Nwifuru has asked Ebonyi residents to forgive his administration’s shortcomings and those of lawmakers, while campaigning for APC support in the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Sunday at a democracy thanksgiving service in the Government House Chapel, Abakaliki to mark his third year in office, the governor admitted mistakes by his administration, National Assembly and State House of Assembly members.
“Please forgive us; forgive me and the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Forgive our shortcomings and vote for us again,” Nwifuru told worshippers, government officials and political stakeholders.
He said governance is a learning process that demands humility and public understanding, and insisted no administration is perfect.
He assured that his government remains focused on improving service delivery, expanding infrastructure and delivering more dividends of democracy across the state.
Nwifuru reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining development programmes aimed at improving residents’ welfare.
The service drew heavyweights including Minister of Works David Umahi, ex-governor Martin Elechi, serving senators, and top government officials.
