Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has opined that the society will become more conducive and harmonious when institutions intentionally promote spiritual and moral growth.
Uzodimma also said the state under his watch has, from time to time sponsored pilgrims to the Holy Land in order to impact positively on the spiritual life of the people of Imo State.
Posting on his verified X handle on Monday, Uzodimma while speaking at the Government House Chapel, Owerri,
thanked God for the grace that made the journey fruitful and transformative for all who participated.
The Governor added that the event availed them opportunity to offer thanksgiving to God Almighty for the success of the 2025 pilgrimage.
During the epoch making ceremony, Southeastposts reports that Gov. Uzodimma was appointed Grand Patron of Imo State Scout Council.
The Governor used the opportunity to commend them for the good work the Imo State Scout Council is carrying out, urging them not to relent.
He encouraged them to continue promoting sound moral standards among the youth for the betterment of society.
Governor Uzodimma said, “We have consistently sponsored pilgrims to the Holy Land, positively impacting the spiritual well-being of our people. Today, at the Government House Chapel, we offered thanksgiving to God Almighty for the success of the 2025 pilgrimage, through which our people have been spiritually enriched. I am deeply grateful for the grace that made the journey fruitful and transformative for all who participated.
Our society becomes more conducive and harmonious when institutions intentionally promote spiritual and moral growth. The Pilgrims Board was established to deliver on this noble mandate, and I am pleased that it continues to uphold its responsibilities, ensuring that spiritual development remains a priority for our people.
In the same vein, I sincerely appreciate the good work of the Imo State Scout Council. Following my appointment as their Grand Patron after the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, I commend their commitment to discipline and service. I encourage them to continue promoting sound moral standards among our youth for the betterment of society.”
