Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has called on Abians to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Kalu made the statement at the weekend during a visit to the member representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Uchenna Erondu Jnr, in Umuahia, to encourage his defection to the All Progressives Congress and support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He lauded the President’s policies, stating their positive impact on citizens and highlighting his bold decision-making.
Kalu appreciated Erondu Jnr for his recent empowerment programme, describing it as massive and impressive, adding that it was unprecedented for a state legislator.
He described Erondu Jnr as a grassroot politician loved by his people and called on the people of Obingwa LGA to support him and join the Renewed Hope Partners, a group promoting Tinubu’s agenda at the grassroots level.
Responding, Erondu Jnr appreciated Kalu and promised that he will not let him down.
He affirmed that Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is not negotiable and expressed confidence that while other zones would deliver, Abia South would deliver 100 per cent.
On whether he will join the APC, Erondu Jnr said he would consult widely with constituents and supporters before taking decision.
