Abia State Police Command, has apprehended seven suspects for unlawful possession of firearms.
In a statement issued on Saturday to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Abia State Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, the Command gave the names of the suspects as: Chima George, Chukwu Emeka Goodluck, Julius Emenike, Chika James, Richard Wisdom, Stephen Chinonso, Chinoso Tom all male.
The Command added that exhibits recovered from the suspects include: Five locally made pistols, one toy pistol, seven cartridges, two yellow berets of the Black Axe Confraternity and maxmech furniture screw machine
The Police spokesperson of the command said operatives of the Command’s Anti-Cultism Unit while leveraging on actionable intelligence, apprehended the above-mentioned suspects between 31/01/2026 and 11/02/2026.
DSP Chinaka revealed that investigation is ongoing as the suspects will be charged to court on conclusion of investigation.
Reacting to the feat attained by men of the command, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to its constitutional duties and encouraged members of the public to partner the Police by volunteering useful information.
