Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has unveiled a compendium documenting over 10,000 milestones achieved by his administration in the first term.
The compendium, titled _“A Thousand and One Reasons Why Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Should be Re-elected as Governor of Enugu State”_, was presented to the public on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Enugu.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Mbah said the document aligns with Executive Order 001, the Citizens Charter, which he signed on May 29, 2023, to institutionalize accountability, traceability and transparency.
He said the compendium highlights the administration’s philosophy of disruptive innovation and its focus on large-scale infrastructure, but does not capture all achievements up to September 9, 2026 due to the time of compilation.
Key milestones listed in the document include over 1,521 kilometers of constructed and reconstructed roads, over 7,000 classrooms, 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, the establishment of Enugu Air, the New Enugu Smart City, and the revamp of moribund state assets.
The Governor thanked those who supported his 2023 election and urged understanding from those affected by tough decisions. He assured that Enugu was on course to becoming a $30 billion economy and the preferred destination for investment, business, tourism and living.
“Our intentions are noble. What we try to do is to put Enugu on a reversible path of greatness. What we try to do is to ensure that Enugu will not compete with Nigeria or within Nigeria,” Mbah said.
In his welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, said the state had pursued extensive urban development, environmental sustainability and urban renewal.
He added that fiscal reforms such as revenue automation, restructuring of the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service, Treasury Single Account, and enterprise resource planning had strengthened financial management.
Onyia said the administration had also sustained investments in youth empowerment, women development, technology, skills acquisition, social protection, tourism and community development.
“Behind every project is a community; behind every policy is a citizen; and behind every statistic is a human being whose life government seeks to improve,” he said.
