Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has described the classroom as the foundation for building a thriving society.
Governor Uzodimma made the remark on Monday in a Teachers’ Day message posted on his verified X handle.
He noted that teachers, through knowledge, character and discipline, shape the minds and values that define society.
”The foundation for achieving a society where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive and where development and progress are sustained for generations to come is laid in the classroom, where teachers, through knowledge, character and discipline, shape the minds and values that define our society,” the Governor stated.
Celebrating teachers, Uzodimma said: “On this auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day, I, on behalf of the Government and the good people of Imo State, celebrate our teachers, whose dedication, sacrifice and commitment to shaping our future generations remain invaluable.”
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to teachers’ welfare and professional growth.
”As a Government, we remain committed to the welfare, professional growth, and continuous development of our teachers. We shall continue to prioritise education, strengthen the institutions that support our teachers, and ensure that their dedication is matched with the recognition, dignity, and support they deserve,” he added.
”Happy Teachers’ Day to our esteemed teachers,” Governor Uzodimma concluded.
