2027: We Will Campaign With Achievements, Not Promises – Otti Tells Campaign Council

0

‎Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, says his 2027 re-election campaign will be driven by tangible achievements rather than promises.
‎
‎The Governor stated this on Monday, while inaugurating the State Campaign Council led by Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu.
‎
‎In a post on his X handle, Governor Otti charged members of the Council with the responsibility of leading an inclusive, issue-based and peaceful campaign.
‎
‎According to him, he congratulated all those appointed, reminding them that while they may have emerged on merit, they should see themselves as “the best among equals.”
‎
‎”Their appointment is a call to service, not an opportunity to become ‘the boss’,” the Governor said.
‎
‎He noted that the campaign, as always, will be built from the polling units, wards and local governments, and urged Council members to work closely with the party leadership, candidates, stakeholders, mayors, appointees, and all support groups, including Abia Arise.
‎
‎”We must build structures that are broad, inclusive and capable of mobilising our people,” Otti stated.
‎
‎He stressed that the campaign will be driven by issues and by his administration’s record of performance, adding that unlike 2023 when the campaign was largely built on promises, by 2027 the administration will have tangible achievements to campaign with.
‎
‎”We will not allow propaganda or distractions to take us away from the issues that matter to our people,” he added.
‎
‎Governor Otti also made it clear that violence has no place in the campaign, insisting that everyone must be free to express their views and engage in healthy debate, and has directed security agencies to provide a level playing field for his team and other campaigners.
‎
‎”I congratulate Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu and all members of the State Campaign Council and wish them success in this important assignment,” he said.
‎
‎The Governor further disclosed that in the coming days, the Campaign Advisory Council which will be chaired by former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, will also be inaugurated.
