LAGOS — Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has told investors that Abia is repositioning itself as a hub for enterprise, industrialisation and sustainable growth.

‎Speaking at the “Meet the Governor Series” hosted by the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce in Lagos, the Governor said his administration has identified seven priority sectors to attract investment and drive prosperity.

‎According to him, the focus areas include: agribusiness and agro-processing, trade and markets, creative and digital economy, manufacturing and industrialisation, SME growth, inclusive finance, and diaspora investment and innovation.

‎Governor Otti said that in the past 39 months, his government has concentrated on reforms aimed at removing barriers to productivity, strengthening fiscal governance, and expanding critical infrastructure across the state.

‎He disclosed that 80 percent of the ₦1.016 trillion 2026 budget has been dedicated to capital projects in order to lay a strong foundation for growth.

‎According to him, the administration has completed 414 roads with 82 others ongoing, installed over 10,000 solar-powered streetlights, and prioritized healthcare with 15 percent of the budgetary allocation. The state has also been ranked 4th nationally in fiscal transparency.

‎The Governor highlighted investment opportunities in livestock, cashew, cocoa and rubber under agribusiness, and in garments, ceramics and leather under manufacturing.

‎He added that the proposed Azumini-Obeaku Seaport, an industrial park, and a medical city will further position Abia as a trade and logistics gateway in the South East.

‎“Abia is rising. Abia is ready. Abia is open for business,” Governor Otti declared.
