The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti has approved a place for the establishment of the South East Headquarters of Commission For Persons Living with Disabilities in Abia State.
The governor gave the approval when he played host to the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission For Persons Living with Disabilities, Hon. Ayuba Gufwan.
Otti said his government does not discriminate against persons living with disabilities or any other group, including people of different religious inclinations or tribes, adding that having a disability does not define a person as disabled and pledged to support their request by providing a location for their Southeast headquarters in Abia State
Earlier, Hon. Ayuba Gufwan on behalf of his colleagues commended the Governor for his friendly disposition towards persons living with disabilities and appreciated the Governor for establishing a commission for persons with disabilities in Abia state.
He said, “We are deeply appreciative that, upon your assumption of office, you established the Abia State equivalent of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.”
