Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, has said that President Bola Tinubu appointed Bianca Ojukwu as minister of state for foreign affairs to ensure representation of the south-east zone in his administration.
Mefor who spoke in a recent chat with Rudolf Okonkwo on 90MinutesAfrica, said Tinubu’s choice of Ojukwu is strategic, intended to help him establish stronger connections within the south-east.
He, however, assured Nigerians that Ojukwu’s role in the federal government would not impede APGA’s position in Anambra state politics.
Recall that on October 23, Mrs Ojukwu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was named as one of seven new ministers.
Her appointment as minister of state for foreign affairs generated reactions within and outside the country’s political class.
