Southeastposts.com, has gathered that six members of one family have been discovered dead in Obehie, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.
It was gathered that the remains of the six family members were discovered by their neighbors.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday at Isi Obehie, has thrown the community and neighboring villages into mourning. It has also caused anxiety in the community.
Southeastposts.com, further learnt that the cause of the death of the family members have not been ascertained but a source in the the community claimed that the victims may have died from inhaling generator fumes.
It was also claimed that the victims died as a result of a ‘spiritual attack’ just as another source revealed that three children, their mother, the mother’s sister and her brother in-law died in the incident.
A source also revealed that their father, who was away from home at the period of the incident, is the only surviving member of the household.
It was further claimed that the victims were natives of another local government of Abia but have been residing in Obehie, before their tragic death.
The identities of the victims have not been made known but the spokesperson of Abia State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed to newsmen that the Command has received the report of the incident.
She stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of their deaths.
