Abia State House of Assembly on Wednesday screened and confirmed two Commissioner designates among the six names sent to the House by Governor Alex Otti for confirmation.
This was confirmed by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa on the floor of the House.
Those confirmed include: Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche and Goodluck Chinedu Ubochi.
Those yet to be confirmed are: Dr Mrs. Maureen Ijeoma Aghukwa , Uwaoma Ụkandu and Kingsley Chibueze Nwokeocha.
Also during plenary, HAB 10, Abia State Cocoa and other Commodities Development Marketing Bill was passed into Law.
The Law, which will be sited as Abia State Cocoa and other Commodities Development Marketing Law came into effect August 7th, 2024.
Correspondent reports that the House adjourned plenary to reconvene on Tuesday 13th August 2024, by 10 am possibly to continue with the screening of the remaining commissioner nominees.
