Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, says his administration is building resilient infrastructure that secures mobility, encourage commerce, and guarantees long-term economic stability for the people of the State.
The Governor also stated that the main aim of reconstructing the Orlu–Mgbe–Akokwa–Uga Road, a Federal Road, is to ease the sufferings of people that ply the road.
Uzodimma who revealed this via a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday, acknowledged the enormous economic activities go on along the Orlu–Mgbe–Akokwa–Uga route.
According to him, for years the corridor was cut off from the rest of Imo State due to severe ecological challenges that threatened livelihoods, restricted movement, and slowed economic growth.
He said the 22-kilometre highway connects Orlu to Akokwa, linking several communities and extending toward the Anambra State border, thus reinforcing regional trade and mobility.
Governor Uzodimma said, “From the depth and durability of the asphalt to the reinforced bridge pillars, the intentionality in addressing the Umuchima erosion site is evident.
”Our goal is not merely to reconstruct a road but to build resilient infrastructure that secures mobility, strengthens commerce, and guarantees long-term economic stability for our people – this is our language.”
