Suspected kidnappers in Anambra State have allegedly killed a banker named Ifeoma after extorting a ransom from the family.
It was learnt that the victim was previously kidnapped by the criminal elements in Onitsha.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishi also revealed the information on his official Facebook page.
He claimed that the assailants killed the victim and disposed of the body near Ideani intersection on Nnobi/Alor route.
In the post, he said, “Ifeoma, a banker, was kidnapped in Anambra State. Ransom was demanded and the family paid but her abductors still killed her and dumped her body around along Ideani junction Nnobi/Alor road Anambra.
“Lives are being taken daily and it’s sad nothing is being done to end all this killings. WHO IS NEXT? If we keep folding our hands and doing nothing, it may get to you,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, confirming the incident on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Command, Tochukwu Ikenga said the corpse has been evacuated.
According to the PPRO, investigations have begun to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the victim.
