Anambra State Government has demolished Airtight Guest House and Bar, a brothel in Okpuno, Awka South LGA, where a large cache of hard drugs was seized on Saturday night.

Southeastposts reports that operatives of Agunechemba, a local security agency, busted the brothel, arresting its manager, storekeeper, barman, 20 suspected sex workers, and male patrons.

The guest house was a hub for drug peddling and prostitution, with Tramadol, Indian hemp, nitrous oxide, Rohypnol, and other hard drugs seized.

The manager, Paul Chibuike, confessed to dealing in hard drugs and letting out the apartment for prostitution. A locally-made short gun was also found.

He also revealed that his master also owns another drug outlet in Awka’s red-light district, Abakaliki Street, while also insisting that they monitor prostitutes to avoid bringing men to sleep over in the facility.

While citing the Anambra Homeland Security Law, the government bulldozed the facility.

During the demolition, Adviser on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, warned property owners to verify tenants’ identities to avoid being implicated.
