As political parties and members gear up for the 2027 general elections, a former House of Assembly leader in Ebonyi State, Chief Emmanuel Ikechukwu Nwobo, has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Nwobo dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform on which he was elected a member of the state House of Assembly, and joined the Labour Party in 2022.
He has now dumped the Labour Party for the ADC. Nwobo registered for the party in his ward at the weekend.
The state chairman of the ADC, Dr Adibe-Nwafor Jenifer, confirmed his defection to the party.
She added that Nwobo has officially registered for the party in his ward.
