Oko Chukwu Finally Dumps PDP

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Abia, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has announced his formal resignation of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The former Speaker of the State House of Assembly in a letter addressed to his Ndi Elu ward, Nkporo in Ohafia Local Government Area, cited personal reasons for dumping the opposition party.

While he appreciated the Peoples Democratic Party for the opportunity availed him to serve at various levels and the experience garnered so far, Sir Oko Chukwu said his resignation takes effect immediately.

In the letter sighted by Southeastposts, the former Speaker said his decision to dump the party was a very difficult one, but described it as the best course of action for him at this time.

He thanked the party for their understanding, while wishing them well in their future endeavours.

The letter was received and acknowledged by the ward chairman of Ndi Elu Nkporo, Ama Nwoke Ibe, dates August 7, 2025.
