ANAMBRA — The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Sector Command, has recovered a double-barrel gun from the scene of a road traffic crash along the Awka–Enugu Expressway.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri.
According to the statement, the firearm was recovered by the FRSC Rescue Patrol Team during a routine inventory of victims’ belongings after rescue operations had been concluded.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, said while the Corps remains primarily committed to preventing road crashes, rescuing victims and ensuring safer highways, its personnel also serve as critical first responders.
He noted that the alertness of FRSC personnel has on several occasions led to the recovery of stolen vehicles, dangerous weapons and other exhibits of security importance.
The recovered gun has been handed over to the appropriate security agencies for further investigation.
