Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has inaugurated the 8th Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, at the Light House, Awka.
Soludo charged the new team led by Chairman and Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Peter A. Onwualu, to ensure COOU does not just bear a great name but also does great things.
He thanked the distinguished external members who answer the call: Igwe Dr. Chris Oranu Chidume, Prof. O. J. Ogbuagu, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, and AIG Chris Ezike, Rtd.
The governor told the council members that their message is simple: put academic excellence first, push COOU into the league of innovation and world-class research, and work hand-in-hand with the Vice-Chancellor to align the university with global standards and the Anambra State he is building.
Soludo expressed confidence in the team, noting that Prof. Onwualu has already given his word and he knows the council delivers.
He added that a strong COOU is non-negotiable in the journey to build a liveable and prosperous Anambra.
“May Anambra continue to win,” the governor says.
