The Abia State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has commended Governor Alex Otti for his “deliberate efforts” to improve the living standards of residents.
Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia on Monday, the chapter’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Godwin Adindu, said Otti’s administration has brought significant positive change to the state since inception about three years ago.
Adindu noted that the group is concerned with good governance, quality leadership, security of lives and property of Ndigbo, and creating an enabling environment for them to live and run their businesses.
He cited the governor’s “radical innovations” across key sectors, including the Umuahia Central Terminal, the transformation of Aba, and ongoing civil service reforms.
Adindu described Otti’s drive to build a business-friendly environment as commendable, alongside efforts to promote Igbo culture and the policy making Igbo Language compulsory in secondary schools.
“We will continue to recognise our outstanding leaders and illustrious Igbo sons and daughters who are carving a niche for themselves in their areas of endeavour,” he added.
