The Commissioner of Police, Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Abia State Police Command to sustain collaboration with other sister security agencies so as to guarantee safety and security in the state.
CP Isa who admitted that no competition exists between the Police and other sister agencies, emphasised that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria clearly made provisions for their respective duties.
A statement made available to journalists in Umuahia on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Abia State Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, revealed that CP Isa stated this while playing host to the Commander, 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. A.M. Dikko, who was on a familiarization visit to the Abia State Police Command Headquarters, Umuahia.
CP Isa remarked that the military has remained a principal partner to the Command in the fight against crime and criminality in the State, describing the partnership as peaceful and commendable.
On his part, the Commander, 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General A.M. Dikko, said the visit was aimed at acquainting himself with the Command and seeking the continuation of the existing collaboration the Abia State Police Command has enjoyed with the Nigerian Army.
Brig. Gen. Dikko commended the hard work of the Abia State Police Command in ensuring the maintenance of law and order and the relative peace in the State.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army in ensuring that the synergy between the two sister security agencies is sustained and expressed his preparedness for a smooth and productive working relationship between them.
According to the Abia Police Command spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, other areas of collaboration and joint activities were discussed by both the Commissioner of Police and the Commander just as they reaffirmed their commitment towards professionalism.
