Abia State Government has directed all mechanics and auto spare parts dealers operating along School/Clifford Road, Hospital Road, Jubilee Road, and Azikiwe Road in Aba North, Aba South and Obingwa LGAs to relocate to the Ovom Industrial Mechanic Cluster, Ogbor Hill, on or before 15th October 2025.
According to the state government, this directive aims to decongest Aba metropolis and ensure a safer, organized, and business-friendly environment for Abians.
A statement signed by the Commissioner,
Ministry of Industry and SMEs, Mr. Mike Akpara, said it has become necessary to remind all dealers that the one-year grace period earlier granted at their request, elapsed in May 2025.
The state government advised dealers to comply before the deadline, warning that enforcement will commence thereafter.
It also urged the dealers to visit the Ministry of Industry and SMEs, New Secretariat, Umuahia, for further inquiries on the directive.
