Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says his administration is working harmoniously with the host communities of Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North LGA of the State.
The Governor revealed this on Thursday after a crucial meeting between the state government and representatives of the Nsulu Airport Communities’ Landowners Forum, held at the Government House in Umuahia.
According to Governor Otti, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Calab Ajagba, the meeting was a continuation of his community engagement with the landowners, which he had previously assured would be ongoing.
The governor disclosed that several agreements were reached between the government and the Nsulu people, and he assured that the government is committed to fulfilling these agreements.
Otti informed that it was agreed that the indigenes would be the first to be considered for employment at the completion of the project, adding that the project would not be abandoned. He assured that the engagements would continue untill the project is finally completed.
He commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Tinubu for making sure that the airport is brought to Abia state just as he thanked all Nsulu sons ans daughters who have shown commitment and sincerity of purpose in making sure that they identify with the plans and purposes of the present administration in Abia state.
Speaking on behalf of the Nsulu Airport Communities Landowners Forum, Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike, expressed the community’s satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting.
