New PDP Excos Take Oath of Allegiance

…as Amah Assures of Forming Shadow Govt

The newly elected Executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who emerged after the November 3rd to 4th State Congress, have been Inaugurated.

Speaking after administering the oath of allegiance on them on Monday at the party’s Secretariat, Umuahia, the South-East Legal Adviser of the PDP, Barr. Ukpai Ukairo congratulated the newly Inaugurated exco, reminding them that the task ahead is huge just as he charged them to work hard to ensure that the party reclaims power in 2027.

Addressing newsmen after the oath of allegiance, the Abia State Chairman of the PDP, Elder Abraham Amah, on behalf of the newly inaugurated exco, said they are fully ready to ensure that all process, engagements among others that will ensure the party reclaims power in 2027 begins immediately.

He noted that they are aware that this feat requires a lot of sacrifice, commitment, challenges, assuring that they are committed to ensure that the PDP in Abia State comes alive to its constitutional responsibility of ensuring that the ruling party is put on check.

Elder Amah said, “We are not ignorant of the task ahead of us. We remain committed to ensure that we bounce back in 2027. A lot of sacrifice, dedication is needed but God willing, we shall achieve it.”

He revealed that part of measures to bring the party back on track, will be the unveiling of a “shadow government”, the largest in a democratic setting in Africa.

Elder Amah noted that the essence is not to attack the government unnecessarily, re-emphasizing that the essence of the “shadow government” and those that will be appointed to head it, is to constructively interface with the government of the day and proffer solutions on ways to bring good governance.

The Abia PDP Chairman also informed newsmen that in the coming weeks, the party will unveil the “Abia Agenda Magazine” which will be a mouthpiece of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, adding that he will be working closely with the team to ensure that Abians are informed properly on the goings on in the State.

He also announced that the party will hold a thanksgiving service in the next 3 weeks in Umuahia to thank God for a successful State Congress and also pray God to direct the affairs of the party.

“In the next 3 weeks, the PDP will hold a thanksgiving service to ask God to direct the path and affairs of the new Excos. Also during the thanksgiving service, the Abia Agenda Magazine – the mouthpiece of the party and the team will be unveiled to Abians.”

Elder Amah also announced the dissolution of the PDP’s Elders Council, while announcing that elder statesman, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu will assist the party in nominating new membership of the Elders Council.

Speaking on plans to reconcile aggrieved members of the party, Elder Amah stated that former Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, who is a member of the National Reconciliation Committee of the party, will assist the Abia PDP to come up with a blueprint to facilitate the reconciliation of aggreived members of the party.

He revealed that he has interfaced with the former Deputy Governor who has also promised to assist, stressing that some of them who left the PDP have also indicated interest to return back to the party.

The new Inaugurated excos are: Elder Amah Abraham – State Chairman, Chief Chinyere Onuoha – Deputy Chairman, Gabriel Elendu – Vice Chairman Abia North, Patrick Onwuka – Vice Chairman Abia Central, Chizuru Kelechi Kanu – Treasurer.

Others are: Chief Peter Nwaokonko – State Secretary, Mbanaso Chidiebere – State Auditor General, Fidelia Ekejianya – State Woman leader, Chief Ndubuisi Enyioko – State Youth Leader, Eric Ikwuagwu – State Publicity Secretary, and Prince Obinna Okey – State Organising Secretary.
