National Protest: NSCDC in Abia Assures of Robust Security for Law-abiding Citizens

Ahead the planned nationwide protest slated for August 1, the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abia State Command (NSCDC), Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, has assured the readiness of the Command to protect lives and property in the state.

Alfadarai added that the Command is also poised to ensure that all National Assets and Infrastructure in Abia State, are adequately protected during and after the nationwide protests.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Umuahia, the State Capital on Tuesday by the CDPRO Abia State Command, ASC II Doreen Udugwu , Commandant Alfadarai warned that the Command would not tolerate acts of violence or destruction of property, stressing that anyone found engaging in such activities would be decisively dealt with.

He revealed that the Command is fully aware of the concerns of the public regarding their safety and security, stating that as professionals in the job, he will ensure that his Officers and men who are well-trained and equipped to handle situations like this will play their parts well.

He said, “We understand the concerns of the public and want to assure them that we have made adequate arrangements to ensure their safety and security,” said Commandant Alfadarai. “Our officers and men are well-trained and equipped to handle any situation that may arise during the protest.”

While emphasizing the commitment of the Command in maintaining law and order, protection of the rights of all citizens , Alfadarai enjoined the public to remain calm as well as go about their lawful business and activities without fear.

“We are committed to maintaining law and order, and protecting the rights of all citizens,” said the Commandant. “We urge the public to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear”

He reassured the public that the Corps is working in conjunction with other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free protest while urging the public to call their hotline: 07072407784 to report any suspicious activities with pictorial evidence.
