‎Akobundu Resigns from PDP

0

‎Senator Austin Akobundu, representing Abia Central Senatorial District, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

‎In a letter to the PDP Ward Chairman, he cited the party’s internal crises and thanked the party for opportunities to serve in various capacities.

‎The letter reads: “It is with immense regret that I write to inform you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect. I have taken time to reflect on my journey with the party and appreciate the opportunities given me to serve.

‎However, the party’s sad and intractable crises have led me to take this painful decision after consultations with associates and supporters.”

‎Akobundu’s next move is unclear, but speculation suggests he might join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

‎His resignation letter didn’t mention a specific party, leaving his future plans uncertain.
