(Updated) Community Policing: Security Agencies, Experts Converge in Umuahia

In a bid to expouse the importance of Community Policing, Security agencies converged in Abia on Thursday for South-East Renewed Hope Ministerial Town Hall Security Meeting held in Umuahia, the State Capital ,to discuss the way forward for Community Policing under the theme: Communnity Policing: A Safer Nigeria Together.

Speaking during the event, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti pledged full support for community policing as proposed by the Federal Government.

Governor Otti, said his administration has long made security top priority, expressing his commitment to protecting law abiding Abians from hoodlums.

He promised that his administration will continue to collaborate with security agencies and leaders to identify areas requiring support while also promising to establish a 24-hour economy.

Also speaking, the Minister of State Affairs 1, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, lauded President Bola Tinubu’s vision for the Nigeria Police Force and outlined the objectives to be accomplished.

She highlighted her responsibilities as Minister and emphasized the importance of Community Policing.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Vision for the Nigeria Police Force, is designed to have a highly effective and adequately funded Nigerian Police Force that is alive to it’s constitutional role within the Nigeria state.
