Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State says his administration remains firmly committed to the welfare of workers in Imo State.
The Governor, who stated this while receiving the Pacesetter Award from Organised Labour, said he kept his covenant and pledge to the people through the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, benefits, promotions, and other entitlements.
He appreciated the Comrade Joe Ajaero led NLC, who was represented at the occasion by the National President of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Aliyu Haruna Kankara, for the award.
In a statement on X, Uzodimma highlighted the importance of the award, saying, “This recognition reflects the collective efforts of my administration in implementing one of the highest minimum wages in the country and in sustaining policies that prioritise the well-being of our workforce.
He added that with the economic reforms and policy direction of President Bola Tinubu, which have strengthened the capacity of subnational governments with greater resources to deliver impactful governance, his administration remains resolute in its commitment to ensure that the benefits of progressive growth are felt by the people of Imo State.
Governor Uzodimma further said, “This honour further reinforces our dedication to responsible leadership and people-centred governance. As the engine room of government, our workers will continue to receive the motivation, support, and recognition they deserve.”
