More facts have emerged as to what led to the death of a staff of a bar in an event centre in the capital city of Umuahia, Miss Happiness Christiana.
An online platform had announced her death, alleging that the girl died out of negligence of the proprietor of the event outfit, who it alleged also, refused to take her to the hospital as she slumped at her workplace.
But further investigations have confirmed that a day before her death, Miss Happiness Christiana had officially closed for the day, as she was seen walking out of her workplace, unaided, suggesting that she was strong and healthy.
Investigations further revealed that the girl, rather than go home, slept in one of the transit rooms that night, and was reported as having gone down with sickness in the middle of the night.
She was said to have been taken to the hospital in the morning, and a patient’s card obtained from one of the hospitals within the vicinity.
According to a source, the Divisional Police Office in Apumiri Ubakala are on top of the situation, even as it was found out that Miss Happiness Christiana met her death while trying to abort a pregnancy.
The source further revealed that the woman who encouraged her to go for the abortion is her aunt, the wife of her mother’s elder brother who has since been in custody until November 11th, 2025.
