Abia State Government says it has concluded plans to resolve all terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last Thursday with the State Chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu stated this on Tuesday while briefing Journalists at the Government House on the outcome of this week’s Exco meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti.
He disclosed that all necessary paperwork for the payments of arrears for the Judiciary workers is being finalized and reassured that the payments would be made before the close of work today.
Kanu said that construction of modern Court rooms in 17 LGAs of the the State had reached advanced stage of completion, including digitization of courts for fast dispensation of cases.
He said, “The State Government I must inform you is irrevocably committed to honouring all the terms of the MoU,”
Speaking further on the agreement reached between government and JUSUN, the Attorney general and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna noted that all areas of concern as raised by the Union in the new minimum wage have been taken care of.
