Newly elected Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) Councilors in Obingwa LGA who were elected in the last November 2nd polls have been sworn in with a charge to represent their Wards and give them dividends of democracy.
Admonishing the Councilors at the Council Headquarters after the oath of allegiance was administered to them by the Solicitor to the LGA, Barr. Eze Emerole, the brand new Chairman, Obingwa LGA of Abia State, Hon. Maxwell Nwadike, reminded them of the sanctity of the work they have been elected to do by the people.
Hon. Nwadike told them to contribute their quota towards the transformation of Obingwa through human faced policies and programmes for their constituents.
He told them that the local government being a government closer to the people at the grassroots, much is expected of them, urging them to put in their best to ensure that the people of Obingwa are provided with dividends of democracy.
Hon. Nwadike, who noted that LGA elections have come and gone, maintained that it is now business immediately, stressing that he expects them to hit the ground running without wasting time, as much responsibility have been bestowed on them.
He also reminded them that those who contested with them will be attacking from all fronts, advising them to keep their heads cool, initiate policies that will shut the mouths of those who might want to criticise them without facts just as he enjoined them to feel free to call his attention on issues that require his attention.

the Deputy Obingwa LGA, Dr. Isiguzo Chikwurah Destiny, Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Prof Joel Ogbonna, SSA to the governor on Special Duties, Dr George Chidozie, Chief Mrs Victoria Onwubiko, the CEO ABSSA, ZLP LGA Chairman Mr Samuel, Barrr. Eze Emerole, solicitor to the LGA and SSC Ministry of Justice Umuahia, were all present during the occasion.
