{"id":7571,"date":"2026-07-03T19:32:22","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T19:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southeastposts.com\/?p=7571"},"modified":"2026-07-03T19:33:26","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T19:33:26","slug":"2027-old-aba-division-forum-backs-opahs-guber-bid-declares-support-for-tinubu-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southeastposts.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/03\/2027-old-aba-division-forum-backs-opahs-guber-bid-declares-support-for-tinubu-others\/","title":{"rendered":"2027: Old Aba Division Forum Backs Opah\u2019s Guber Bid, Declares Support for Tinubu, Others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200eAhead of the 2027 general elections, the Old Aba Division People\u2019s Forum, a prominent socio-political group in Abia State, has thrown its weight behind the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, describing him as an aboriginal son, Nfu-La-Ala, of Old Aba Division, Ukwa\/Ngwa.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe Forum said it is made up largely of members from the Ukwa\/Ngwa extraction, and its decision is driven by the need to rally behind \u201cone of their own\u201d who has proven himself and achieved success over the years.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe resolution was reached during a meeting held on Friday in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, after which the Forum issued a communiqu\u00e9.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eReading the communiqu\u00e9, Elder John Nwangborogwu stated that the Forum\u2019s position is anchored on the APC\u2019s decision as a leading political party to award its 2027 Abia governorship ticket to an aboriginal son of Old Aba Division, Ukwa\/Ngwa, Chief Eric Opah, Nfu-La-Ala, Nwa-Afo Ukwa\/Ngwa.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e\u201cIn the light of the above, we have resolved to totally align with and massively support the APC in Abia State and Nigeria as a whole,\u201d the Forum declared.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe group congratulated Chief Eric Opah on his emergence as the APC governorship candidate for 2027, and pledged to mobilize massively for him \u201call the way to his God-ordained victory\u201d at the polls.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe Old Aba Division People\u2019s Forum also reaffirmed its unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe Forum further cautioned President Tinubu against taking seriously the Labour Party\u2019s claim in the state that it would vote for him in 2027, describing the assurance as deceitful.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eIt also announced support for other APC candidates contesting various positions, including:<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e1.\u00a0 Senate, Abia South Senatorial Zone*: Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e2.\u00a0 Aba North\/Aba South Federal Constituency: Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n3.\u00a0 Ukwa East\/Ukwa West Federal Constituency: Hon. Chris Nkwonta<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n4.\u00a0 Obingwa\/Ugwunagbo\/Osisioma Federal Constituency: Prince Udo Alozie<br \/>\n\u200e<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">5.
