Leaders and stakeholders in Enugu West Senatorial Zone have concluded plans to hold an endorsement rally for Governor Peter Mbah ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

\n\u200eSoutheastposts gathered that the rally is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Awgu Local Government Field.

\n\u200eAddressing a press conference in Enugu on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Chieftaincy Matters and Rural Development, Charles Egumgbe, and Senator Ben-Collins Ndu \u2014 co-chairmen of the organising committee \u2014 said the event would draw participants from across political parties and communities in the zone.

\n\u200eEgumgbe said the decision to endorse the governor reflects a consensus among the people of Enugu West, irrespective of party affiliation.
\n\u200e
\n\u200eHe described the administration as deliberate and forward-thinking, noting that its impact is being felt across the state. \u201cIf you look at infrastructure, education, health, transportation and the economy, you will see that this government has moved into all these areas. You can see activities of governance in every community, in every part of the state,\u201d he said.
\n\u200e
\n\u200eHe also pointed to improvements in the aviation sector, saying they would ease travel for residents.

\n\u200eEgumgbe maintained that the governor has demonstrated enough capacity to earn another term. He further reaffirmed Enugu West\u2019s position on the state\u2019s zoning arrangement.

\n\u200eAlso speaking, Senator Ben-Collins Ndu reaffirmed the zone\u2019s full support for the governor while restating its expectation under the zoning deal. \u201cWe are going to give him one hundred percent support. After his tenure, it will come to Enugu West. That is why we are fully behind him,\u201d he said.
