Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has said that his covenant with the people of Abia is to serve everybody and not few individuals.<\/p>\n
The Governor also assured that he will continue to do so with uncompromised high-standard service delivery to Abians, whom according to him, deserve quality service.<\/p>\n
He gave the assurance on Sunday at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Diocese of Aba Ngwa North, All Saints Cathedral, Abayi Umuocham.<\/p>\n
The Governor used the opportunity to thank the Church for their continued support through prayers and for allowing God to use them to bring his administration to power to serve the people.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to use this opportunity to thank all of you for allowing God to use you to bring us to come and serve you, because, it is God, and God wouldn\u2019t come down from heaven; he used you,\u201d the Governor stated.<\/p>\n
Speaking on his covenant with Abians and the importance of God\u2019s timing in people\u2019s affairs, Dr. Otti said, \u201cWhen we came, we came with a covenant, and that covenant is to serve Abia people from A to Z, not a few people. And that is why we are doing everything we are doing in the interest of Abia people, not the few tiny elites.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know God has His own time. When we came in 2015, we won the election, but then, it wasn’t God\u2019s time, and then He asked us to wait. Any time you are asked to wait, you wait; that\u2019s something to take away from what I\u2019m saying today \u2013 any time you have to wait, just wait. A lot of times, people have refused to wait, and they run into their graves. So, it is very important to wait,\u201d Governor Otti added.<\/p>\n
Governor Otti reassured Abians of continued quality and impactful service delivery from his administration, saying,\u201cI want to assure you that this Government will continue to serve you. I\u2019m sure those of you that have children in school (Primary and Basic Secondary), from the beginning of this year, you are not paying school fees anymore. That is the way to serve you.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, when you walk into a typical Health Center that we have renovated, you will see the difference. And, you won\u2019t pay an arm and a leg because this is your Government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a lot of other things we are doing, but I can assure you, this is just 29 months. Why it was so difficult was because of the rot we met, but we don\u2019t complain;<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have used these past 29 months to stabilize. So, those who are amazed at the level of work that has been done, like the Americans say, you ain’t seen nothing yet. We have now stabilized, you will see more work.<\/p>\n
He appealed to the Church to continue remembering the Government in their prayers for the wisdom and the resources to continue to serve them well.<\/p>\n
In his sermon, the Cathedral Administrator, Ven. Precious Okereke, Ph.D while preaching on the theme of All Saints Cathedral Week \u201cTransformed to His Glory,\u201d with scripture reading drawn from 2 Cor 3:18, said Christians are under obligation to look and behave like God.<\/p>\n
Ven. Okereke stated that transformation begins from the heart, adding that when the heart is transformed, the whole body will be transformed.<\/p>\n
