{"id":5214,"date":"2025-07-31T15:04:21","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T15:04:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southeastposts.com\/?p=5214"},"modified":"2025-07-31T15:04:21","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T15:04:21","slug":"igbokwe-exonerates-herdsmen-from-killings-in-south-east-fingers-igbos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southeastposts.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/31\/igbokwe-exonerates-herdsmen-from-killings-in-south-east-fingers-igbos\/","title":{"rendered":"Igbokwe Exonerates Herdsmen from Killings in South-East, Fingers Igbos"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, has decried the ongoing violence in the South-East region, alleging that some elements within the region are falsely blaming Fulani herdsmen for the crisis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Igbokwe who made the remarks in a Facebook post on Thursday, also alleged that the spate of killings and destruction in the South-East was being perpetrated by fellow Igbos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said, \u201cThe blatant and pathological lies about the killings and destruction in the South East can no longer stand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt is Igbo killing Igbo, it is Igbo destroying Igboland and put the blame on Hausa\/Fulani herdsmen. This is not our culture. This is sad,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\nThe APC stalwart, known for his vocal stance on issues affecting the Igbo region, has consistently called for an end to what he describes as self-inflicted violence.<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Recall that on Wednesday, Igbokwe also raised the alarm over what he described as the unchecked and growing menace of ethnic bigotry in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a statement also posted on his Facebook page, Igbokwe expressed deep concern, warning that many Nigerians are blind to the looming consequences of ethnic divisions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, has decried the ongoing violence in the South-East region, alleging that some elements within the region are falsely blaming Fulani herdsmen for the crisis.
