{"id":5149,"date":"2025-07-26T02:01:26","date_gmt":"2025-07-26T02:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southeastposts.com\/?p=5149"},"modified":"2025-07-26T02:01:26","modified_gmt":"2025-07-26T02:01:26","slug":"anambra-guber-adc-to-flag-off-campaign-august-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southeastposts.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/26\/anambra-guber-adc-to-flag-off-campaign-august-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Anambra Guber: ADC to Flag off Campaign August 9"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Anambra State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fixed August 9 for the flag off of its campaign ahead of the November 8 Guber Election in the state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This was revealed on Friday, by the Gubernatorial Candidate of the party, Mr John Nwosu, while speaking before the inauguration of a 22-member Campaign Committee headed by Engr Ike Iwenofu.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Speaking at the event which took place at the party\u2019s office in Awka, Nwosu described ADC as a coalition party composed of people of proven character who had been chosen to work in the campaign committee.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to him the coalition was the best thing to happen as it came aboard before the launch of the ADC campaign and called for team work in order to achieve set goals, while stating his trust in the members.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200e\u201dWhat\u2019s important is that we avoid gossip, trust ourselves and sort our differences amicably and in the right quarters. We have no time left and our work is at the grassroots,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200eNwosu urged members to assimilate the ADC manifesto, which, he said, was anchored on seven pillars which he gave as security, health, education, economy , environment, market and social welfare.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He \u200esaid the party learnt a lot from its recent tour of the local governments, disclosing that the main complaints given by people against the incumbent government in the state were high cost of rent, insecurity and over taxation. He said the party had taken note of those issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200eNwosu further disclosed that the campaign committee had been split into three zones to cover the three senatorial zones of the state, with each having a zonal director while urging the members to go to the field and meet the people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200e\u201dOur office here is for meetings; after this, it is field work. Be true ambassadors of the party and be of good character so people can believe you,\u201d Nwosu charged the members, noting that the membership was composed of people from different parties in the spirit of the coalition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The governorship hopeful restated the resolve of the party to do well in the coming state assembly and senatorial bye-elections in \u200eOnitsha North 1 and Anambra South, and charged the members to use those elections to make a strong statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u200eIn his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the campaign committee, \u200eEngr Ike Iwenofu, said it was a privilege to serve the party and pledged that the committee would not disappoint.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He underscored the importance of God in any human endeavor and praised Nwosu for championing that and charged members to dwell on issues in their campaign and said technology would be deployed for effective campaigns.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In his remarks, the deputy governorship candidate, Chief Ndubisi Nwobu, called for unity of purpose and commitment, while underlining the need for partnership.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said the campaign organization was aware of their sacrifices, which, he said, would be rewarded.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e\u200eThe ADC Chairman in the state, Comrade Patrick Obianyo, said the day marked the beginning of great things for the party.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He recalled that the party was founded by a son of the state, Chief Okey Nwosu, and charged members to ensure the party won, starting with the coming state and national assembly bye-elections.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Anambra State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fixed August 9 for the flag off of its campaign ahead of the November 8 Guber Election in the state.
