Leadership tussle in Ndiagu Amagu Ikwo in Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State has claimed the life of a young man identified as Nwoyika Ugbaloke.<\/p>\n
Southeastposts gathered that Nwoyika Ugbaloke was shot to death while two others were injured and many people missing ensuing from a community leadership tussle.<\/p>\n
The deceased, Nwoyika Ugbaloke and Thomas Ngaragu were attacked by a gun-wielding group but Ugbaloke did not survive the attack.<\/p>\n
Many people are said to be missing from the community following the attack.<\/p>\n
It was gathered that the trouble started when a faction in the community imposed an N40,000 levy on every adult native of Nduche Umuomara in the community which did not go down well with another faction in the area.<\/p>\n
It was further gathered that the faction that imposed the N40,000 levy on the adults, was also selling lands belonging to the faction that opposed the levy.<\/p>\n
Son of the deceased, Nwoyika Kingsley Emeka who lamented the killing of his father and called for arrest of his killers.<\/p>\n
He said the killers are moving freely in the community healing people\u2019s farmlands with palm fronds and warning them never to set their feet on the farms unless they pay fines.<\/p>\n
He alleged that the perpetrators are being protected by some highly placed persons in the community including a former political officeholder in the area whom he said is their sponsor.<\/p>\n
Emeka called on Governor Francis Nwifuru and the State Commissioner of Police, Adaku Uche-Anya to intervene in the matter to prevent the perpetrators from boasting to eliminate those carrying out nefarious activities in the community.<\/p>\n
