A group, the South-East Youths Stakeholders Forum (SEYSF) has disclosed that establishing the Enugu Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) campus would enhance digital skills acquisition among youths in the region.<\/p>\n
The group said the move, is a demonstration that the Federal Government is committed to bridging the digital disparity and fostering youth development in the region.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the forum said the Enugu campus will offer young people access to cutting-edge digital education, skills acquisition, and capacity-building opportunities essential for participating in today\u2019s global digital economy.<\/p>\n
The statement reads: \u201cThis development is a beacon of hope and a catalyst for technological advancement in the South-East. It will empower our youths, create jobs, and stimulate innovation,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
It reaffirmed its support for the initiative and urged key stakeholders in the region to support the sustainability and growth of the project.<\/p>\n
President of the DBI, David Daser, said the commencement of the Enugu campus reinforced the institute\u2019s commitment to expanding digital skills training nationwide.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cThe establishment of the Enugu campus is strategically designed to provide high-quality ICT and telecom training, ensuring that young Nigerians and professionals in the region gain the requisite skills to thrive in the digital economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He noted that the commencement of the DBI Enugu Campus is a significant step towards the realisation of Nigeria\u2019s digital transformation agenda, and enjoined aspiring Information and Communication Technology professionals, students, and corporate organisations to leverage this opportunity for career advancement and technological excellence.<\/p>\n
Daser called on governors of eastern states and other stakeholders to partner the institute, noting that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility.<\/p>\n
He also acknowledged the vital role of eastern youths in the country\u2019s digital economy and expressed optimism that the Enugu Campus would enhance their natural talents and potential in the digital space<\/p>\n
