Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State visited 10 schools in his hometown Isuofia, marking the end of the five-year “sit-at-home” era.
He monitored schools, engaging with pupils and educators, and stressed that Anambra’s “New Generation” must be prepared for international competition.
Schools visited include: Community School, Isuofia; Unique Nursery and Primary School; and Model Primary School. Soludo emphasized that a four-day week is incompatible with the state’s developmental aspirations, urging students to adopt values of integrity and hard work.
He clarified the state’s collaboration with “returned schools,” where the government provides subsidies and covers teaching staff costs, while the Church and Missions handle capital investments and infrastructure maintenance.
Soludo assured comprehensive safety measures are in place, lauding educators’ resilience and directing administrators to maintain attendance records.
The visit signals Anambra’s return to full academic and economic activity, reinforcing the government’s stance that the state’s social and economic engines are operational.
