The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, says reports that he had declared his intention to contest for the governorship seat of Abia State in 2027 is untrue.
Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Levinus Nwabugbiogu, who issued the statement on Sunday, said Kalu was only focused on his four-year mandate of representing Bende Federal constituency and Nigerians at large.
The statement which demanded a retraction of the report by its publishers, accused the punisher of publishing the news without accuracy, adding that it was designed to misinform the people.
The CPS to Kalu, said the report is baseless, unfounded, and lacks credibility, emphasising that the Deputy Speaker has not made any declaration, either privately or publicly, to contest for the governorship of Abia State in 2027.
He however, stated that the political family of the Deputy Speaker, will announce his intentions at the right time.
