‎APC Chieftain Speaks on What Could Have Happened If Party Won Anambra Guber

0

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Farouk Aliyu, says the ruling party aimed to win the recently conducted gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

‎Speaking on Monday, Aliyu stressed that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s decision to support President Bola Tinubu was made independently.

‎He insisted that there was no agreement between the Federal Government and any state to force political alignment.

‎Aliyu added that the APC contested in Anambra and lost, emphasising that the outcome should be accepted as part of the democratic process.

‎The APC chieftain also dismissed allegations that anti-corruption agencies were being weaponised against opposition figures.

‎He insisted that prosecutions by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) were based on allegations and evidence, not party affiliation.

‎The comment is coming amid claims that Nigeria is drifting toward a one-party state.
