Amaimo Community in Imo Decry Deplorable State of Their Major Road

Worried by the deplorable state of their road, the people of Amaimo, Umukabia in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State are calling on the government to rescue them from the suffering caused by the poor state of their major road.

‎Addressing newsmen on the state of the road which connects Isiala Mbano headquarters, Ikpem, Imo River, and Okigwe town, a community leader from the area, Nnorom Christian, said the road has become a hazard to life, causing frequent accidents and mechanical issues.

‎He lamented that the road has been neglected for years, leading to economic hardship, increased transportation costs, and limited access to healthcare and education.

‎Nnorom, on behalf of the community, begged the Federal and Imo State governments, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), senators representing Imo State, NGOs, churches, and other faith-based organisations to intervene and rehabilitate the road.

‎He also disclosed that the deplorable state of the road has forced students of the community to abandon their schools.

‎Apart from poor road network, the community is also seeking support for clean water, electricity, agriculture, commerce, healthcare, and education
