Abia State Government has announced the postponement of the official flag-off ceremony for the remodeling and redevelopment of the A-Line Phase II section of the market, slated to hold today, Thursday October 30, 2025.
A statement signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, said the decision was taken to allow for the completion of certain preparatory processes necessary to ensure the smooth and successful execution of this transformative project under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti, Executive Governor of Abia State.
The statement conveyed the State Government’s deep regrets ensuing from any inconvenience this postponement may cause and assured all stakeholders that a new date will be communicated soon.
While reaffirming the premium Governor Otti places on Ariaria redevelopment, the State government added that the project remains a top priority of the present administration, emphasising that it forms a vital part of Governor Otti’s agenda to rebuild Aba into a modern commercial hub that meets international standards of business, safety, and infrastructure.
The statement further appreciated the patience, understanding, and continuous support of the people of Abia State as the State Government and the citizenry collectively drive the vision of a New Abia built on transparency, accountability, and sustainable development.
