A former Minister of State Mines and Steel Development and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Dr. Sampson Ogah, has insisted that there is no feud between Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu.
Ogah said what he sees in what people are branding feud or misunderstanding between the Abia Governor and Rep. Benjamin Kalu is just mere semantics, recalling that the Governor was once an APC member, emphasizing that no feud exists amongst the duo, saying it’s a family affair.
Recall that Mr. Kalu had said the state, under Governor Alex Otti, has been substituting genuine governance with propaganda and theatrics, despite receiving what he described as record monthly allocations and federal interventions.
As tension grew over Kalu’s statement, the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti , Ferdinand Ekeoma, issued a statement where he said Kalu did not consider naira depreciation and the increase in minimum wage while comparing the allocations received by the state government and previous administrations.
Meanwhile, addressing newsmen on Saturday during the funeral of Hon. Lady Christie Uche, Ogah maintained that he doesn’t see any problem between the duo saying that, “There is no problem. They will settle themselves if there is any feud, but I don’t think there is any.”
Speaking on the build-up to 2027, he likened 2027 politics to a saying about tortoise who said when there is war, it would kill a pregnant woman, but when the war eventually came, elephant and the rest killed a woman and they arrested tortoise, stressing that no one can predict what 2027 holds except God.
“But look at where we are today. So, we are all mortals. We don’t know what is going to happen in 2027. For us, it’s just ask God to give us life. Once there is life, then there is hope for the common man. ”
Speaking on whether he would want Governor Otti returned as Abia Governor in 2027, Ogah said the taste of the pudding is in the eating, “The question should be, have we ever seen this type of transformation in Abia before now? Have we? If we have not seen, so what is the answer?
On whom he would give his vote in 2027, he said, ” When the time comes, we have to find who to vote for. So, there is no doubt. We know that the government is doing very well for the people of Abia. What we are looking for is good governance for the people. And the government is doing well. Whether anybody likes it or not, you have to say the truth.
“At a certain age if you don’t say the truth, even God will be angry with you. So, say the truth and forget the rest. I’m not here to determine who will become governor in 2027. But what I’m saying is that whoever God has prepared will be the governor in 2027, everything is in God’s hands.
