Abia Set to Host International Investors in Nov

Abia State government says it is set to host international investors, business leaders and trade experts from Turkey and Europe at the forthcoming Abia-Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition.

Southeastposts reports that the event is designed to position the state as a prime destination for global investment and partnership.

The event themed “Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity,” will take place from November 25 to 27, 2025, in, Umuahia, the Abia State capital and is being organised by the Abia State Government through the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in collaboration with VEGA Growing Global Enterprise.

Speaking during a press briefing in Umuahia, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Mr. Green-Amakwe, said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed with VEGA to ensure a successful and impactful summit.

He said the event will provide a unique platform for local and foreign investors to explore opportunities in Abia’s vibrant economy and experience firsthand the business-friendly environment created by Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

“The administration of Dr. Alex Otti is committed to creating a more favourable investment environment for our people and investors who wish to identify with Abia,” Green-Amakwe said, “We are working assiduously with our partners to host a world-class investment summit that will open new frontiers for trade and collaboration.”

Green-Amakwe revealed that the summit would focus on key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing, textile and leatherworks, energy and infrastructure, trade, and logistics, among others.

He further noted that the government is working closely with several chambers of commerce across Nigeria including those in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, as well as Aba and Umuahia to ensure the summit’s success.

While acknowledging the vital role of the media in promoting the initiative, Amakwe urged journalists to continue supporting the state’s economic transformation drive.
