Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will on Sunday, October 19, 2025, commission a new female hostel at Clifford University, Owerrinta, Abia State, during its 6th convocation.
Named after his late mother, Dr. Veronica Imade Adeleke Female Hostel Complex, supported by Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, a firm believer in quality education.
Dr. Adeleke is a major sponsor of the University, and he is currently funding scholarships for 500 students.
Davido, known for his philanthropy in education, said he is proud to support youth empowerment through this initiative.
Davido’s involvement underscores his commitment to youth empowerment and education, further cementing his status as a role model beyond the music industry.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Prof. Chimezie Omeonu, described the event as a milestone, highlighting both the convocation and celebrating the achievements of its graduating students.
The hostel is expected to improve accommodation and academic life for female students in the citadel of learning.
