Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, has insisted that his administration is building institutions that will outlast men not strong men.
Otti, who stated this on Sunday, during the Christ Embassy Miracle Crusade at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, said “We are building institutions that will outlast men. When you build men and they go, you may return to square one. But here, we are building enduring institutions.”
Governor Otti while acknowledging that nobody is perfect, assured the congregation that his government will not deliberately do the wrong thing. “We are not perfect, we can make mistakes, but we are not arrogant. If we make mistake and we find out, we will correct it and apologise. But I can assure you that this is a government that will not deliberately make a mistake or do the wrong thing.
Continuing, “That is why today, we have hired so many teachers. Go and talk to them; none of them knew anybody. You apply, once your application is meritorious, you pass the CBT test and interview, you are taken. You pay no dime to anybody. That is the kind of institution we are building here. That you know somebody does not help,” Governor Otti asserted.
A post by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, said Governor Otti also disclosed that the ongoing recruitment of 771 health workers by his administration has received applications from across the world, as non-Nigerians applied, like people from Zambia, South Africa, and so on.
“Never again will we go back to those days where if you don’t know anybody, you don’t get anything,” Dr. Otti assured.
He said that while doing so, he is not deceived by thinking that people will not attack his administration, saying that even Jesus Christ was attacked. He reminded the people that once God is with you, no man can prevail against you.
Th Governor said every society gets the kind of leadership it deserves and urged the people to protect good leadership when they see it.
He said that one of the ways to protect good leadership is to register and vote during election, urging the people to ensure that they partake in the ongoing voter registration exercise so that they can elect the leaders of their choice through their votes when it is time.
Governor Otti assured the people that nobody can intimidate them because Abia belongs to everyone, reminding those making noise about what they would do in 2027 that they are not God, whose power belongs to; only He knows what will happen tomorrow.
He lauded the Church for their continued support and prayers, even before he became Governor, appreciating, specially the men of God who toiled day and night, fasting and praying for God to bring a leadership that would change the story of Abia for good. He told the cheering crowd that at the appointed time, God did it, saying that God’s time is the best as he encouraged the people to hold on to any vision they have and not give up when they encounter setbacks and discouragement.
While introducing Governor Otti at the venue, Pastor Felix Ebuade, the Zonal Pastor of Christ Embassy, Aba Zone, said for years he prayed for God to bring true development to Abia, adding that today, he can boldly say that God has answered the prayer, and He did so by giving Abia Governor Alex Otti.
Pastor Ebuade invited senior anointed men of God in the arena, including the founder of Glorious Life Gospel Centre (GLGC), Archbishop (Dr.) Goddy Okafor, who offered fervent prayer for the Governor, his administration, and the State.
