Forum of Former Deputy Govs Pledges Continued Commitment to Nigeria’s Development Agenda

The Forum of former Deputy Governors of Nigeria has restated its dedication to contributing meaningfully to the country’s development agenda, for a better and stronger Nigeria.

Speaking while addressing the forum in Abuja, Senator Aliyu Wammako called for policy formation and collaborative action aimed at tackling Nigeria’s pressing challenges which includes insecurity and food insecurity, economic instability, as well as governance deficits.

Senator Wammako urged the former deputy governors to leverage their institutional memory to bridge gaps between state and federal policy making, stressing that leadership is a continuous responsibility, good governance and accountability.

The forum’s National Chairman and former deputy governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Akomas emphasized that the forum’s primary interest is to achieve inclusive dialogues which is focused on good governance and nation building, even as he expressed believe that they can achieve the best they can, for the country, for generations to come.

He further stated that the forum participates in national discourse to ensure that their ideas, contributions are properly documented.

Dr. Akomas stated that members of the forum have a lot to offer, whether in or out of office, as deputy governors, and collectively, they will always come out with very refined ideas.

According to him, in this year’s national conference, the forum will be talking again on the capacity that has to do with increased productivity, while disclosing that they are looking at innovation, leadership as well as industry.

Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Women Affairs, promised that the forum will remain united and won’t fail Nigerians, but will always support the leadership of the country.
