President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday inaugurated some projects built by the Uzodimma administration in Imo State.

Tinubu, who arrived in the state about 2:30 p.m., commissioned the 52-kilometer Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia Road; Control–Assumpta Cathedral Catholic Church Twin Flyover; and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC), Owerri. He praised Governor Hope Uzodimma for his efforts in putting up the projects.

Crowds comprising residents, school children, students, government officials, monarchs, among others, converged on the streets to witness the events.

Southeastposts reports that by the commissioning, the multi-million-naira projects have been opened for public use. Cultural displays, music, and glamorous welcoming activities heralded the president’s visit.

Tinubu also inspected some projects executed by the administration, describing them as a collaboration between the state and the federal government.

Southeastposts reports that there were also inspection tours of the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, Owerri, and the Digital Learning Centre.

Another highlight was the Orashi Free Trade Zone, which had attracted more than seven oil and gas companies in the state. It is expected that the investment would industrialize and kick-start job creation in the state.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Hope Uzodimma listed the projects executed by him, including infrastructural, youth empowerment, and technologically driven areas such as the MyInoApp, the Imo Digital City (IDCL), and the Skill Up Imo Technosphere, which he said has trained about 40,000 youths in digital skills.
